buying a house in Mysore is a dream for everyone. When you think of the perfect place to settle down, you probably picture a charming house surrounded by trees and flowers—a home that will be your refuge from the busy world outside. If this sounds like your ideal place to live, then buying house in Mysore might be just what you’re looking for. But before you put in an offer on the house of your dreams, there are some things you should know about the pros and cons of buying house in Mysore.

buying a house in Mysore 10 Pros and Cons Mysore

Here are 10 Pros and Cons of buying a house in Mysore :

1) When will you get possession?

When you purchase a property, you will get possession after completion of construction. In most cases, you can get possession within three to four months from the date of booking. You can check out your developer’s website or home seekers forum to know how much time they require for giving possession. Ideally, it should be less than nine months from the date of booking if it is an under-construction project.

2) On the maintenance front

At first, it would appear to be expensive. But you should know that with proper maintenance, your house will last for decades. If you’re planning to stay in one place for long (and who isn’t?), it makes perfect sense to buy rather than rent. Even if you move out of Mysore after some years, chances are your property value would have appreciated significantly. At that point, you could even sell it off to someone else.

3) Public transport accessibility

The city is well-connected by road, rail, and air. Both private operators and state-owned KSRTC ply buses to other parts of Karnataka. Private luxury coaches connect it with other Indian cities such as Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, etc.

4) Safety concerns

Mysore isn’t a particularly dangerous city, but like any major metropolis, it has its share of crime. Areas to be aware of include uptown

5) Schools, hospitals, ATMs nearby

A home is usually more expensive when it’s located near good schools, hospitals, or ATMs. Good schools are great for families with kids; similarly, hospitals are important to have nearby if you plan on having a family. For singles or couples without children, health insurance plans can make up for any gap left by not living near top-notch medical facilities.

6) Built-in neighborhood facilities

The best part about moving to a new house is getting to know your neighborhood—so, if you buy in an area with all sorts of services close by, like restaurants or convenience stores, you’ll be saving money on food, travel, and utilities. Here are some more things that make neighborhoods great places to live

7) You will get more houses than what you can afford

Nowadays, the real estate market is at an all-time high. Many people have been taking advantage of that to buy houses that they cannot afford. It would seem like it would be great to have a large home right away, but what if you lose your job? The more money you spend on a home that is too expensive for you, the longer it will take to pay off your debt or down payment, depending on whether you are selling or buying a house in Mysore.

8) Working from home is easy

There’s no commute, so you can get more done during your waking hours. You don’t have to put on work clothes, so you may feel less rushed to start your day. It may be difficult to focus at home with family distractions close by. It can feel isolating to work alone when everyone else is at an office or a coffee shop.

9) Not many visit your place as it’s very private

Yes, it may be great to have privacy while you’re home, but there’s also something to be said for hosting dinner parties or hosting people who might not otherwise make it over to your place. It can be exciting and fun having others on your property. And if you don’t have guests very often, consider renting out some part of your home that has ample living space.

10) Kids safety comes first

Before moving into your dream home, check for any potential safety hazards. Safety measures could include installing a smoke detector, upgrading your fire extinguisher’s lifespan, or simply ensuring that you know where emergency exits are located. While it’s tempting to put off these tasks until after you move in, keep in mind that there are plenty of DIY videos available to help you get things done quickly and safely.
